John Matthew Hall joined The Independent in the summer of 2007 shortly after graduating from the London College of Communication. He currently looks after the Arts, Media, Obituaries and Showbiz sections of Independent.co.uk, while also dissecting the commercial radio industry, knocking out the odd music review, digging critically panned Bob Dylan albums, creating rock'n'roll top tens and writing the Bargain Hunter blog and it's weekly print edition counterpart.

Michael Jackson's hair on fire

As you may have heard, the American celebrity magazine Us Weekly have obtained a 'never-before-seen' video of Michael Jackson's head catching fire during the filming of his 1984 Pepsi advert.

July 10 will be the final trading day of the world’s last Comme des Garcons guerrilla store.


However, thanks to the project’s great success, the Glasgow-based store will continue under a new name, W2.

W2 will continue to carry vintage Comme des Garcons as well as wallets and fragrances. Moreover, in the near future W2 will extend their rails to accommodate the London-based designer Margaret Howell and New York’s Adam Kimmel.
 

These will all be available at the attractive price that the W2 concept is based upon.

Background information:

Peter Doherty is releasing his new album ‘Grace/Wastelands’ exclusively on MySpace today. Users can log listen to a full stream of the hotly-tipped record, which isn’t officially released until March 16.
